16.7 – Enforcement Procedure

Federal procedure for investigating, seizing, and prosecuting cryptocurrency-related crimes.

  • A. Wallet Logging: β–ͺ All wallet addresses, involved must be documented by agents. β–ͺ Any crypto found must be reported to FIB or DOJ.

  • B. Cold Storage Seizure: β–ͺ Seized crypto is transferred to a government-controlled cold wallet. β–ͺ Agents must not hold seized assets personally or on personal wallets.

  • C. Chain Tracking Authorization: β–ͺ Tracking wallets through forensic tools (like Chainalysis) requires a warrant or internal approval.

  • D. Seizure Review Rule (72H): β–ͺ All crypto asset seizures must be reviewed by the DOJ within 72 hours.

  • E. Platform Cooperation: β–ͺ Exchanges operating must comply with federal subpoenas or audit orders. β–ͺ Failure to comply may result in a shutdown, search, or permanent ban on operating.
