13.2. LS Federal Attempted Murder Act
Attempting to unlawfully kill another individual, regardless of whether the victim survives, is a grave federal offense.
Charge Type: Felony Sentence: Up to 350 Months imprisonment Fine: $250,000
Enhanced Sentencing:
Life imprisonment may be imposed if the victim sustains life-threatening or permanent disabling injuries.
Mandatory sentencing applies if the victim is a law enforcement officer, minor, or if the act is terror-related.
