1.3. LS Federal Drug Trafficking Statute

The illegal act of transporting, distributing, or selling controlled substances across LS federal boundaries, or in quantities exceeding federal thresholds. This includes production, distribution, or sale of Cannabis, Oxycodone, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, or other controlled substances without proper authorization.

Thresholds for Federal Charges:

• Marijuana: 1,000 bags or more

• Oxycodone: 500 bottles or more

• Cocaine: 400 bags or more

• Methamphetamine: 250 bags or more (includes large boxes or bulk quantities)

Sentencing Guidelines:

Guilty Plea:

Sentence: 200 Months

Fine: $100,000

Federal Trial:

Sentence: Hold Until Trial

Fine: Hold Until Trial
